What's in a Name?

Just like everything else, our name and logo have a story.  In our search for both name and logo, it was important that it be something meaningful to us…less important that it be meaningful to others…no offense intended.

They are derived from an ancient Celtic symbol – the Fivefold.  Many interpret the outer four folds to represent the basic elements of fire, water, earth, air, and the center fold as an undefinable element uniting them all.  Some say that the outer folds represent the four seasons, or the four directions.  Still others interpret them to represent mind, body, soul, and spirit.  At PentaFold, what matters is the idea of an interconnection between the elements and the notion of one that unifies.

Many cultures have a Fivefold equivalent – a point important to us as well, because we seek to honor differences in individuals, groups, teams, organizations, and cultures in our work.  When we do, we believe we can find the unifying element or, as we put it, the integration that enables success.  This name and logo speaks to us.  Hopefully, it speaks to you as well.
